Employee safety is the number one priority at The North American Coal Corporation. We work diligently to assure the health and safety of our employees. The results of our efforts speak for themselves: We have received numerous awards for our safety record, and our corporate-wide U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration Accident Frequency Rate is consistently below the industry average.
Environmental Stewardship
North American Coal is committed to maintaining, protecting and enhancing the quality of the environment at each of our operations. We conduct our mining operations in a manner that minimizes environmental impacts, while maximizing the recovery of coal and ensuring that affected lands are restored to a level of productivity equal to or greater than that which existed prior to surface mining activities. We have been recognized as a leader by mining industry publications and have earned numerous environmental awards from federal and state agencies.
